Sorry about the lateness, I Have a summer camp and might miss a few days.
Today the post is going to be about research on the great mountain. I’ll put a link to the article I used at the end of this post so you can do your own research.
The great mountain among some Native Americans was believed to be home to the god of storm, Pamola, and was therefor not climbed. The first recorded climb of the great mountain was done by Massachusetts surveyors Zackery Adley and Charles Turner Jr. in August 1840.
The great mountain is the highest mountain in the U.S. state of Maine at 5,269 feet (1,606 m). It inspired hikes, climbs, journal narratives, paintings, and a piano sonata.
Animals that live on the great mountain include black bear, deer, and moose. Thank you for your support, Cleo🐻.

My first time canoe camping up in Maine, in the area just south of Baxter long ago, I was really excited when we came upon our first moose grazing in the river (“WOW, A MOOSE!”), but there were so many that by the end of the day it was kind of routine (“yaaay, another moose”).
But over the years I regained my sense of wonder upon seeing moose, wherever they are. Even, once, on my windshield (not a recommended moose viewing method).
