Training

Stairs

Howdy y’all,

today for training we’re focusing on stairs yes, I said stairs don’t get me wrong you can get a lot of exercise from stairs if you know how to go about it.

For starters, you want to find a big staircase ( I’ll put pictures below) outside or inside your choice. Next, you want to get a giant bottle of ice-cold water.

Now put on your running shoes and start running up the stairs, for beginners I would suggest 4-5 times up and down the stairs, but if you have more stamina I would suggest 10-11 times up and down. Make sure you stay hydrated because your gonna be hoooooooooooooot and as a reminder, it’s, not your calves that are the strongest muscle, it’s your brain( yes it getting old but it’s my motto for exercise). See yall soon 🎭!

  1. I’m a little behind on your blog, but I’ve become a big fan of stairs while recovering from my knee injury!

I know all the good nearby stairs, from the ones at the Bethesda pool (10 steps) when I was just graduating from a single step, to the Macedonia Baptist Church on River Rd (15 steps) that was walking distance and good for nighttime, to the ones I could combine with a bike ride or run like Little Falls Library (30), Little Falls Trail to CCT (29), and Whitman High (30).

Now I’ve mostly replaced stairs with short hikes, but I’m still not ready for what you’re doing. I’m so jealous! Enjoy!
